In my previous post for the Top Echelon Recruiter Training Blog, I listed seven reasons why top candidates aren’t actively searching for a new job. I also presented the results of a survey that indicated most of these top candidates would be open to changing their job.
So—how can you convince them to do that?
As I mentioned, once you explain that your process is 100% confidential and you will only call them when you are representing their next logical career move, your task becomes easier.
However, your sourcing calls should also emphasize the following eight things when recruiting passive candidates:
- You will not waste their time.
- Their priorities will become your priorities.
- Unless they intend to retire from their current job, it is wise to keep their options open.
- If they stay at their job for more than five years, it could negatively impact their income.
- Staying with the same company can reduce career growth.
- Staying with the same company can be interpreted as a lack of risk taking.
- Their dream job could land on your desk tomorrow, but you would not know to call them unless they had shared what is most important to them.
- Utilizing your services is the best passive way to conduct a job search.
