TEC to Sponsor and Exhibit at Annual NAPS Conference

Top Echelon Contracting (TEC) is pleased to announce that we will be a sponsor and exhibitor at the 2012 National Association of Personnel Services (NAPS) Conference to be held at the San Antonio Westin Riverwalk from Wednesday, September 19, through Saturday, September 22.

As President of TEC, I am especially excited to have the opportunity to introduce Friday’s keynote speaker, employment analyst Joanie Ruge. As the Senior Vice President and Chief Employment Analyst for Randstad Holding U.S., Ruge interprets employment data for Randstad’s customers and candidates. She has been a featured expert on Fox, CNBC, CNN, ABC, PBS, The Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Report, and Forbes.

Ruge was recently featured in an article about job creation in our quarterly newsletter, Contracting Corner. She told us that job creation is coming, but that most of it is happening in the professional sector. She also discussed a common workforce model where companies are building a core staff and supplementing that core with contractors who have specialized skills to handle specific projects, goals, or deadlines.

“When I first started in the industry 19 years ago, it was more about placing temporaries in a job to cover a vacation or maternity leave or maybe they had a permanent job they wanted to fill with a temporary while they looked for a permanent person,” Ruge said. “In the last 10 years, we have really seen what I call a paradigm shift. Companies are looking for a more flexible workforce model and really want to have more of a blended workforce with contract workers at different levels.”

NAPS conducts annual conferences and seminars to bring needed help and training to individuals, owners, and managers across the United States. They have secured their position as the search and staffing industry educator through their certification program, continuing education initiatives, eLearning, and annual conference.

This year’s Conference features four tracks that to anchor the lineup of speakers, (1) Direct Hire Back to Basics, (2) The Direct Hire Master’s Program, (3) Temp Staffing and (4) Best Practices and Technology. Running concurrently with the event on Friday afternoon is the Owner and Manager’s Retreat as well as an Executive Leadership track. Because of the success of the 2011 event, NAPS will have a Wednesday Evening “Kick Off Event and Keynote” with Danny Cahill. In addition to Ruge, Jon Bartos and Jim Bleech will each host morning keynotes.

Following the morning keynotes will be an extensive line up of education and networking. There are also two pre-conference credentialing/educational specials that include NAPS’ well-known certification programs (CPC and CTS Credentialing), as well as their new CERS (Certified Employee Retention Specialist). In addition, recruiters will have time to visit the Exhibitor Hall where they can spend dedicated time with vendors like Top Echelon Contracting, Big Biller and Hiring Hook.

We haven’t even gotten to the part fun yet. The Thursday evening party will be incredible, complete with a live band, mechanical bull riding contest, and a LIVE auction complete with a TEXAS auctioneer . . . you will not want to miss this!
