Job Orders For Recruiters – How to Find Contract Staffing Job Openings
Typically finding the job orders for recruiters is the first step in a contract placement. To find the best sources of job orders, we surveyed top recruiters and asked them how they get their job orders. Below is the process that these top recruiters follow.
Communicate with Client Companies
To get your contract job orders, communicate with every client company and let them know that you can place workers not only on a directed basis, but also on contract. In most companies, the following people are great sources:
- Department Managers
- Project Managers
- Senior Executives
Normally, these managers are heavily involved in the hiring process. Of course, the person you will be dealing with will depend on the internal procedures for the company and often the size of the company. The smaller the company, the higher up the ladder you will have to go. Don’t hesitate to ask them if they currently do contract placements!
Position Your Recruiting Firm
Proper positioning of your firm will strengthen your efforts in obtaining job orders. Keep the following keywords in mind:
- Expert – Present your firm as the expert for both direct and contract placements. Let them know you are a solution provider for all of their hiring needs.
- Specialty vs. Commodity – Emphasize that your firm is a specialty firm rather than a commodity firm. The majority of specialty recruiters focus their efforts on high-level technical and professional candidates. Commodity focuses on the clerical or blue-collar workers.
- Sole-Source Supplier – Identify your firm as a full service or sole-source supplier. Client companies prefer to deal with one source for all of their placement needs.
Communicate With Contract Candidates
Contract candidates are a great source for referrals. They know the companies and managers that use contracting. They are also a great source for finding other candidates.
