Sample Cold Calling Scripts for Recruiters

Scripts

What’s a recruiter without their phone scripts? Nothing! As any seasoned recruiter will tell you, you need to get on the phone in order to make more connections and placements. There are 2 types of calls you can make to your prospective contract staffing clients.

1. Initial Marketing Calls

The best way to remind clients you are now offering contracting services is to bring it up during your regular phone conversations. If they do utilize contracting already, find out who at the company utilizes it and track that person down. If they say no, explain the benefits of utilizing contract staffing. The goal is to let the client know most companies are utilizing contract staffing and you can provide this valuable service.

Example: “Let’s bring in a few people to help out on a contract basis. We’ll handle employing them through an outside service and let them know up front that this isn’t a long-term situation. That way, there won’t be any surprises when the work slows down—we’ll just end their contracts.”

2. Follow-up to Printed Materials

Most recruiters prefer to communicate with clients by phone rather than by mail, particularly when they have a good reason to call. After sending the marketing documents, make follow-up calls to all of the clients. You have a good reason to call. You are now offering a new and valuable recruiting service that clients will appreciate.

Example: “My firm can supply a contract candidate who’ll be able to hit the ground running and help you meet your project deadline. Would that interest you?”

These sample cold calling scripts for recruiters are just an example of how you can reach out on the phone to help expand your contracting business. Don’t be afraid to get on the phone and tell clients the benefits of your recruiting services and of having workers on a contract assignment.
